The Omani national transportation company "Mwasalat" launches with the national ships company the line (Muscat-Shinas- Khasab) starting from Thursday corresponding 24th August 2017, which is considered the first line linking land and sea in Sultanate of Oman. The launch of the line is part of the efforts to develop the Logistics Sector in Sultanate of Oman.
To encourage all to experience the new line being as a unique experience gathering the using of bus and ship at the same and first time, and the service will be whole free and limited seats for the users of the line between (Muscat-Khasab) and between (Khasab- Muscat) during the period from 24th to 31 of August 2017. Where there will be free prices for the residents of Musandam Governorate and its employees, with discount of 50% for the children's tickets from 3 to 12 years, and free tickets for children less than 3 years.
Keeping up with this service, The national ships company decided to increase the capacity of passengers and vehicles on this line and that through using Hurmuz ship which can transport more than 190 passengers and charging more than 40 vehicles.
About booking mechanism, the tickets will be available in Mawasalat offices in each of Al-Athaiba, Burj Al-Sahwa, Al-maabela and Sohar, in addition to call center and reservations in the national ships company and different company branches. It is preferred to preserve previously before 24 hours form departure because seats are limited.
Four trips a week will be conducted "back and forth" and in different times, where there will be two trips on the line(Muscat-Shinas-Khasab) on Sunday and Thursday. The trip begins by bus on the two days at the same time from Muscat at 12:15 p.m and the ship leaves Shinas province at 4:30 p.m and arrive to Khsab province at 7:30 p.m. Two other trips on line (Khasab-Shinas- Muscat) on Saturday and Tuesday. The trip begins by ship on the two days at the same time from Khasab at 1:00 p.m and the bus leaves Shinas province at 4:50 p.m and arrive to Muscat Governorate at 8:20 p.m.
