With an average of 16000 passengers daily, “Mwasalat” has transported around 5.9 million passengers in 2018 on all its city and intercity routes, witnessing a 30% increase in the average number of passengers from 2017. Also, the last quarter of 2018 saw an average of 19000 passenger daily and with 24,000 passengers on Fridays. According to the latest data, Omanis passengers has touched 40% of the total number, indicating an increase in local’s awareness to use public transportation.

Omanisation at Mwasalat hit a tremendous 95%, making the total number of employees at the company 1231, with 360 Omanis hired in 2018.

 

Mwasalat is planning to launch a new application to smoothen the process of booking tickets online and to subscribe in a various package of tickets. Also, the app will allow passenger to track the bus movement and view precise data about each bus and more to be announced during 2019.
