Nizwa
The city of Nizwa is the regional center of the A`Dakhiliyah Governorate. It lies around 164 kilometers from the capital Muscat. Nizwa lies at the foot of Al Jabal Al Akhdar (Green Mountain) to the south, amongst the mountains that form its walls.The city is full of rivers, orchards, and palm trees towering amidst a balmy atmosphere.This clement weather has made many scholars and holy and free men claim Nizwa their hometown, giving it the name “the courtyard of Islam”. Nizwa city is famous for its history, culture, origins, and heritage that abound in its customs, traditions, crafts, and the traditional industries and handicrafts our forefathers have known and excelled in as a means of livelihood.
Souq Nizwa
This souq lies in the vicinity of the walls of the famous Nizwa Fort. Its building embraces both traditional and modern architectural lines. Through its many alleys and divisions, Nizwa Souq has remained for hundreds of years home to several local industries, such as daggers, copper, spinning, livestock sale, fish, vegetables, and handicrafts.
Nizwa Fort
Nizwa Fort is one of the oldest forts in Oman and lies in A`Dakhiliyah Governorate. It has a unique large round shape. Its height reaches 24 meters, with an outer diameter of 43 meters and an inner diameter of 36 meters. This fort has seven wells and multiple openings for stationing the fighters defending the fort.
Electric Carts
Electric Cars are new service been added for the tourists in Nizwa Old Lanes, they take the tourists around Al Aqar village in Nizwa.
Falaj Daris
Falaj Daris is the largest falaj and one of the biggest irrigation channels in Oman. It provides the surrounding countryside with much needed water for the plantations.
