Mwasalat Exceeding 2 Million Passengers in the First Half of 2023

Mwasalat, a member of Asyad Group, experienced a significant increase in the number of passengers transported in the first half of 2023. Over 1.9 million passengers were conveyed via the bus services, with an average of more than 10,000 passengers daily. Additionally, over 111,000 passengers were transported via the ferry services, with an average daily transport of more than 618 passengers. These figures reflect the efforts made to promote the culture of using public transportation.
It`s worth noting that Mwasalat also offers freight and vehicle transport services through its fleet of ferries, having transported more than 29.3 thousand vehicles and over 10.5 thousand tons of goods. This highlights the economic and social role the company plays in meeting the transportation needs of citizens and residents in our precious Oman.
 
On another note, Mwasalat has provided training opportunities for job seekers, totaling over 15,000 training hours. Furthermore, 84% of contracts and purchase orders were awarded to small and medium-sized enterprises. The company continued its initiatives targeting community life improvement, reaching about 17 initiatives, emphasizing its commitment to social responsibilities.
From another perspective, Omani passengers in intercity bus services accounted for approximately 37.32%, and in ferries, it reached 80.09%. Considering the vital role of the company in allocating priority seats for women and families, women made up approximately 13.18% of bus users and around 21.8% in ferries. Mawasalat continues to implement Omanization programs across its various departments, achieving a rate of 93%.
 
These achievements fall within the continuous efforts to make public transport more appealing. Mawasalat has diligently incorporated modern technological solutions. The new direct online booking system has simplified the direct booking process for intercity bus trips, positively influencing passenger numbers. The system has made trip planning easier and more efficient for travelers, enhancing customer experience and service efficiency provided by the company.
 
With this increase in passenger numbers during the first half of the year, Mawasalat remains committed to improving transportation services and fostering societal and economic development.
